A couple of mornings before our return to Seattle, I was walking around my brother and sister-in-law's neighborhood and finally figured out what the photo project was that had been nagging at the back of my head the last few times I've been home.
Most people know that Hawai'i is of course not all beaches and rainbows (although those are pretty good). But there's a beautiful, unique quality to the residential neighborhoods and houses that almost nobody from outside Hawai'i ever experiences. I adore the neighborhoods, and nothing makes me feel quite like I'm home like walking through them.
Since it was just before we flew back to Seattle, I didn't really have time to do more than poke* at this project for a bit, but now I'm ready for the next time I'm home.
* That's poke, like wit' one stick, not poh-kay, like 'ono grinds.
